Overview

The UTS Online?Master of Digital Marketing?is a unique multi-disciplinary and comprehensive program of study in digital marketing. With subjects drawn from UTS Business School and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, students are provided with a course structure designed for data-driven and leading marketing professionals who want to prepare for the future of digital marketing.

The course is delivered fully online part-time, enabling students to continue to work full-time while attaining the digital marketing skills to take control of their career and apply the skills they learn in the course immediately at work, regardless of their industry.

The UTS Online Master of Digital Marketing is tailored to professionals who want to increase their skills because like many other occupations, marketing is undergoing significant changes accelerated by new technology and a fast-moving future.

Unique to UTS Online, this course is designed with busy full-time working professionals in mind, studying this fully online course helps students to feel accomplished and supported at the same time.

Course aims

This course develops students' learning agility to secure a career in a world where it is essential to develop a deep understanding of the market and customers. Demand for digital marketing professionals is rapidly growing across industries, broadening career opportunities like never before. This course develops students' abilities in identifying the opportunities and challenges in marketing and digital strategy, and examining their impacts to generate actionable business solutions, applying critical and strategic thinking to digital strategy decision-making, and conveying business information effectively.

Career options are incredibly varied as most companies across all industries need to understand their customers and respond, ethically, to harness the most valuable customers. Graduates from this program continue to develop their marketing career or if they are an experienced marketer they will upgrade their knowledge in the tools and application of leading digital marketing strategies.

Course intended learning outcomes

1.1 Evaluate relevance and contribution of advanced digital marketing techniques to analyse business issues and apply critical thinking and creativity to integrate the solutions in decision making
2.1 Communicate ideas, decisions and strategies clearly and apply interpersonal skills that are sensitive to diverse people, cultures and contexts
3.1 Critically evaluate and apply principles of ethical and social responsibility, sustainability, and cultural diversity, including knowledge of Indigenous values, to digital marketing practice
4.1 Critically evaluate relevance of advanced digital marketing techniques for contemporary business issues and apply critical thinking to integrate creative solutions in decision making

Admission requirements

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

Minimum Academic Requirement: The previous qualification must be in a related field, within the business discipline.

All applicants who do not meet the minimum academic requirement may still be considered on the basis of:
• a minimum of at least two years full time, or equivalent, relevant work experience in the marketing field.

The relevant work experience must be demonstrated through a C.V. and a Statement of Service, confirming the dates of employment and the position held within the organisation.

The English proficiency requirement for local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.

Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.

Pathway course

Students who do not meet the requirements to gain entry into the Master of Digital Marketing may be eligible for entry into the Graduate Certificate in Digital Marketing (C11306). Satisfactory completion of the UTS Graduate Certificate, allows students to articulate into the Master of Digital Marketing.

Recognition of prior learning

Students in the Master of Digital Marketing are not granted exemptions for any prior studies.

Course duration and attendance

The course can be completed in a minimum of two years of online study (i.e., 1 x 6 credit point subject per session over 12 x 7-week teaching sessions). A 6 credit point subject requires an average of 15-20 hours of study per week.
Approval to study more than one six-credit point subject per session will be subject to Faculty approval.

Course structure

The course comprises a total of 72 credit points and consists of a combination of ten core and two elective subjects.
