MAJ03002 Civil and Environmental Engineering

Civil and environmental engineers play a key role in the design of sustainable urban infrastructure and construction activities in natural systems. Students in this major use their disciplinary knowledge in civil engineering as well as their knowledge of the interrelationships between humans and the environment to develop effective management strategies for controlling water, waste, air and noise pollution problems. Graduates from this degree are in an excellent position to undertake roles in environmental consulting, local, state and federal government agencies and catchment management authorities.

Students in this major must select the Civil and Environmental Engineering specialist stream (STM90848) in lieu of electives.
