Description

This subject provides students with an outline of the organisation and management of construction projects including professional practice, ethics and sustainability. The subject includes an overview of the stakeholder, the construction project lifecycle, communications and human resource management. Critical legislation around industrial relations, work, health and safety (WH&S) and dispute resolution (mediation and litigation) are reviewed. Case studies focusing on ethical reasoning in simulated professional contexts are the focus of in-class workshops.

The subject also considers the management of construction work and the building site, examining topics such as site establishment, construction methodology and site planning and includes building information modelling (BIM) and digital management of projects
