Description

The MRes Thesis in Music and Sound Design supports supervised research projects in music composition and production, sound design for media, entertainment and sound arts, popular music studies and music industry. Students develop either a creative practice work of professional standard, supported by a written exegesis or an in-depth research project resulting in a scholarly thesis. A broad range of research methods can be supported by the Music and Sound Design discipline. Projects with industry focus and collaboration are encouraged and students can engage in regular colloquia with peers, academics and industry mentors, as well as address contemporary and emerging production technologies and research practices that can be applied in real-world industry settings.
