Description

This subject offers students the opportunity to undertake a major creative practice research project for, about or through media arts and production activities. they receive one-to-one supervision from discipline experts as well as access to facilities and equipment support for high-end post graduate research production projects and a seminar program focusing on contemporary concerns in creative practice research. The major research thesis incorporates a significant research based creative work and a 15,000-word thesis or a 40,000-word traditional thesis, with both options being externally examined. The scope and feasibility of the research projects would be determined in close consultation with their research supervisor. Emphasising and recognising the unique contributions to knowledge that can be gleaned through creative practice research in media arts and production, students can address issues within their own creative media arts practice, questions drawn from industry practices, in collaboration with industry, or explore other complex problems with creative media arts practice as the central mode of inquiry.
