Description

This subject is designed to enhance and broaden the experiential learning of students concurrently with their internship. Students employed in a particular organisation typically experience a relatively narrow range of tasks and professional culture within that organisation. A series of modules in this subject gives students the opportunity to broaden their experience and understanding of professional practice in the context of their chosen field of practice.

Upon successful completion of this subject students should be able to:

1. Demonstrate personal and professional development within the broader context of their profession and through concurrent internship experience. (F.1)
2. Document their professional and personal development that may be used for seeking employment and/or professional accreditation. (E.1)

Teaching and learning strategies

The subject is delivered online as students may be undertaking their internship anywhere. This subject includes one compulsory module as well as one elective module, which is available on Canvas.

Assessment task 1: Professional development plan

Intent:

Record plan for professional development. Set SMART goals in consultation with your supervisor to describe how your internship will develop your understanding of leadership in the engineering workplace. Identify two of the EA Stage 2 Elements of Competence to achieve by Week 12.

Minimum requirements

In order to pass this subject, students must attempt and pass all assessment tasks in the Compulsory Module.
