This subject enables students to conceptualise, develop and defend a research proposal on an original problem of a theoretical or applied nature in finance.

Contribution to the development of graduate attributes
The Bachelor of Business (Honours) program provides an opportunity for advanced study in the disciplinary area of finance. This subject will enable students to design a thesis proposal. Students will be guided by their supervisor in reading existing literature and developing a feasible and original theoretical or applied problem to be researched in the subject Thesis in Finance (Honours).
This subject also contributes specifically to develop the following Program Learning Objectives:
- Apply critical thinking and analytical skills in the process of completing a research project (1.1)
- Communicate research and its potential impacts effectively to a range of audiences (2.1)

Teaching and learning strategies
This subject is offered as self-directed study with research supervision.
Students meet regularly with thesis supervisor over the semester to review proposal development.

- Basic programming skills, importing data and setting up statistical analysis
