The framework is designed to develop the complex skill profile for supporting the needs of a deteriorating older person. Key learning areas include comprehensive assessment of the older person and their environment; symptom assessment and management; optimising care across health care teams and health settings; cultural care; end-of-life communication; grief and loss; and self-care and resilience. Through industry-led masterclasses (four six-hour sessions), students are able to strengthen and refine their nursing knowledge and skills in the provision of care to older populations and their families.
