This studio explores performance in the context of animation design and encourages students to explore performance as 'life in motion'. Working from the basis that performance stems from the relationships of all living things and forms an ecology of movement, students gain an understanding of how performance is used in animation design. Students learn to create experiences that engage the viewer in immersive animation outcomes using a variety of media.
Students work with a project scenario and design animation responses that develop the student's visual language and theoretical understanding of the representations of life, patterns of movement, expression, social interaction and ritual.
