This subject focuses on the development of research skills and the application of research methods to the study of international relations. Students learn the fundamentals of research design, including the selection of appropriate research methods, the collection and analysis of data, and the interpretation of results. Students learn how to develop research questions, formulate hypotheses, and choose appropriate data sources and data analysis techniques. Ethical and practical challenges that arise in conducting research in the international arena are also examined. The subject equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to design and conduct their own research projects and to critically evaluate existing research in the field.
