0cpDescription
The MRes thesis in International Studies allows students to develop projects with an international focus, either in Australia or abroad, emphasising local and global connections that drive transcultural, translingual, and transnational processes. The goal is to explore the uneven interactions and movements of cultures, languages, people, ideas and desires that shape the international landscape. Through seminars, students interact with researchers and international guest speakers from various disciplines, including history, cultural studies, language learning and linguistics, geography, ethnography and literary studies. These sessions provide insights into the responsibilities, approaches, and practices essential for impactful research. Students engage deeply with international research methods and receive support in research design and theory-building. This thesis research subject prepares students for postgraduate research and professional careers in their chosen field, equipping them to navigate and influence the complex world of global connections.
