Description

Health psychology seeks to understand the complex and multidimensional influences of the human experience on physical health. In this subject, students examine psychological, behavioural, biobehavioral and sociocultural components of human experience that contribute to optimal health among diverse individuals and communities. This involves critical evaluation of the latest scientific research on biobehavioral pathways and mechanisms, social determinants of health, psychosocial and sociocultural influences, intervention development, policy, and impact on clinical practices. Students explore ways to promote health and wellbeing, and critically reflect on and respond to health inequality within our community.
