Description

This subject invites students to explore technology transitions and investigate the complex challenges and opportunities these shifts entail. Students scrutinise the impact of ubiquitous technologies on our behaviours, hopes and aspirations, and examine these shifts from personal, disciplinary or professional perspectives. Complex systems thinking approaches are applied to engage with a real-world challenge posed by industry or community partner. Working in multidisciplinary teams, students map and probe relevant technological or innovation systems and develop proposals that have the potential to steer these systems towards more virtuous inclusive, sustainable and equitable states. In doing so, students deepen their understanding of the potential impact of their disciplines to solve complex problems, and work at the intersection of many other disciplines to unlock this impact further.
