Description

This subject provides a theoretical and practical introduction to the area of digital health with a focus on relational database management systems/information systems. Concepts covered include SQL; interoperability; mapping; workflow and systems analysis; entity-relationship modelling; system design, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance; data standards; data integrity and security; data governance. This subject helps students to develop an understanding of the entire system design, development and implementation process. The practical skills acquired from this subject enable health information management graduates to effectively work as health informatics experts.
