Description
This subject covers the practical aspects of modern biotechnology, including bioreactor operation, microbial kinetics, extraction techniques and downstream processing. It includes the microbiological, physiological and biochemical basis of industrially useful fermentations in food, beverage, pharmaceutical and other relevant industries. The subject also considers economic and other factors impinging on the operation of fermentation industries.
