Description
This subject focuses on understanding the different models of design management structures and methods used in industry and recognising their impact on the design process. The practice of industrial design, particularly Australian design, is investigated through a series of case-study presentations. Particular emphasis is placed on issues relating to ethics, intellectual property and contractual administration in new product development. This subject enables the student to deepen their understanding of industrial design through application of knowledge gained in the course to the area of professional practice.
