Description
In this subject students learn how to initiate, lead and manage design-based social innovation in organisations and communities, and gain a deeper understanding of the implications of design-based innovation methodologies in the wider context of social change. Topics include leading complex innovation projects, influencing the organisational and community culture, understanding the influence of the political context, and engaging with and learning from the evolving international body of knowledge on design for social innovation.
Students shadow a live social service design project being undertaken by the Design Innovation Research Centre, and relate material covered in the subject to that live project context.
