The goal of Regulatory Framing of Health Care 2 is to develop the skills and disposition required to actively engage with regulatory challenges and opportunities in a variety of domains. Whilst these skills are applicable in a variety of domains, the subject introduces students to the theory and methods of regulation and governance by applying them to the health and health services policy context whilst considering key aspects of health law and the legal system. It is designed to help students understand the nature of regulation, the relationship between regulation and law, the use of regulatory instruments and techniques and approaches to evaluating regulation. In the subject, students examine the work of leading regulatory scholars and consider how their theoretical insights are applied in practical settings. Students receive the opportunity to examine and synthesise relevant issues of regulation and health law and engage with concepts and applied debates through a variety of case studies and workshops.
