Description
This final online migration law subject centres on best practice to provide competent and ethical migration advice and services. Students will examine the requirements for setting up a professional practice and focus on essential skills for client-service delivery.
- Students will learn how to advocate for clients and will explore further the ethical obligations applicable to a professional migration advisor.
- Numerous low stakes tasks give students the opportunity to test and develop their knowledge as they progress through the subject.
- This subject gives students practical opportunities to apply the knowledge gained through their earlier subjects by undertaking an internship under the supervision of a registered migration agent with at least two years' experience. Alternatively, students could undertake a client file task.
This subject covers all nine standards of the Occupational Competency Standards for Migration Agents that set out the knowledge, skills and professionalism required of an Australian migration agent.
