This subject builds on and brings together the concepts introduced in Mechatronics 1. It is intended to provide students with comprehensive hands-on experience in mechatronics system design. The concepts of sensing, actuation, control, hardware and software are demonstrated through various robotics platforms. Subject matter includes: sensing, actuation, path planning, control, memory, tools for microprocessor-based system design, development and testing of prototype systems. The subject includes a major project where groups of students design, develop and commission a microprocessor-based product.
