Undergraduate

Description

Students build problem-solving skills to analyse a problem in-depth, identify its key issues and develop inventive solutions, along with estimating their impact. Students are provided with a framework to structure and select suitable techniques for different problems and contexts. This builds their understanding when, how and why specific problem-solving techniques are suitable when solving socio-technical Industry 4.0-related problems. Students apply different techniques to solve practical problems to deepen their learning experience.
This subject can also serve as a sense-making activity to structure and link to other UTS problem-solving subjects around design thinking, frame creation, agile, and lean start-ups. Students learn how to integrate Indigenous / non-western problem-solving techniques.
