Description

This subject is an immersive, collaborative, and practical learning experience for students in the form of an international field trip of approximately one-week duration. During the focused overseas study tour, students learn about and experience selected industries and regions' economic, business, management and cultural characteristics. Locations may vary depending on the industry and business practices under scrutiny and the most relevant place to study global business practices. The subject involves a pre-departure briefing and a mixture of in-country activities that may include visits to businesses, talks by business leaders and trade officials, tours of significant venues, and time to explore freely.

Depending on the selected location, the trip may include a study tour component co-hosted by a UTS network partner University. Students discover opportunities and capacities for innovation, leadership, collaborative support, and problem-solving. The field trip involves overseas travel and associated travel costs, which are in addition to course fees. UTS endeavours to keep travel costs as low as possible by negotiating group rates with hotels and other providers. To ensure the affordability of the study tour, it is only run if enough students enrol.
