Description

The subject is designed to provide an understanding of the field of the integration of environmental, social and governance ESG into the investment process within the field of sustainable finance, which has been increasing in importance in the last few years. Students learn ESG metrics and the ways in which these can be utilised within investment decisions. Current industry practice are analysed and incorporated into the underlying theories. Students gain insights into rating systems, frameworks and regulations, forming a foundation for understanding the opportunities and challenges of ESG integration for equity and fixed income investing. They learn about the role the bond market plays in raising capital for projects to meet climate and social targets. Finally, students are introduced to active ownership and impact investing. The subject draws on the experience and expertise of senior academics and industry practitioners.
