23793 Mechanism Design

This subject covers the application of mechanism design principles to the question of the design of institutions aimed at inducing people to follow some desired behaviour. The mechanism design approach is rooted in the standard economic approach looking into how material incentives shape individual behaviour. This subject is a twin subject to the “Choice Architecture” subject that investigates a related question from a behavioural economic perspective.
