Description

To be able to make decisions using data, how that data is stored and how it can be extracted for use must be understood. This subject introduces students to the theory behind database design, how data storage options are implemented, and a range of technologies used in data storage. Students learn how to access a database via structured query language (SQL) to retrieve data from the database for future analysis. On completion, students are able to retrieve data from a data storage facility for use in further business analytics activities. Demonstrations and assessments in this subject draw on publicly reported ESG data.
