Technological innovation continues to disrupt workplaces and the way in which people experience work. Increased connectivity, the “gig economy”, automation and artificial intelligence are already creating change and will keep impacting on the employer/employee relationship in the coming years. Human Resource Management is at the forefront of these changes. In this subject, students will critically analyse current and prospective disruptive trends that affect the world of work. The subject will examine the ways in which the changing technological and social landscape impacts on work, organisations and society. The subject will focus on the ways in which companies can successfully adapt to these changes, and do so in an ethical and sustainable way.
