Organisations are in constant states of change. Faced with pressures of globalization, competition, innovation, digitisation, and disruptive technology, change can have significant impacts on the workforce of organisations. This subject critically examines the challenges and opportunities that organisations face in managing their workforce during times of change. Students will examine the role of human resource management in facilitating organisational change in ways that support and/or drive strategic changes at the organizational level. This will include topics such as the management of organizational change, organizational culture, resistance, change communication, leadership in managing change, and sustaining organizational change. Moreover, students will be encouraged to explore the ethical and sustainability aspects of their change decisions and the impact they have on internal and external stakeholders.
