Artificial Intelligence (AI) engineering and related technologies have emerged as the powerful technological forces, revolutionising various sectors of the economy. The use of AI for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry has escalated dramatically in recent years. With the recent advancement in AI engineering and related technologies, they have the potential to revolutionise the construction industry by improving efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Recent advancements in AI, including machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), offer transformative potential for the AEC industry, enhancing efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

The subject explores different types and methods of AI engineering and related technologies, and how the construction sector has applied these technologies successfully. Students are guided to develop a critical point of view of the technologies, feasibility, effort and impacts. The subject also focuses on the ethics and risks of AI engineering and related technologies in the AEC industry. By the end of this subject, participants develop a foundational understanding of AI in construction towards innovation in their careers.
