Description

This subject provides students with skills and knowledge of the context and methods of health technology assessment (HTA). It focuses on the application of health economics methods, particularly economic evaluation and clinical epidemiology, to evaluate the implications of introducing new health care interventions, including procedures, diagnostic tests, devices and drugs. Students will learn how to define a HTA question, identify and assess the quality of appropriate data, apply methods of analysis and interpret the results.
