Primary Key Learning Area


The subject focuses on skills in art-making, forms of practice, content and pedagogy in visual art. The content emphasises contemporary practice with reference to modernist and historical practices. Participants develop skills in creating 2D, 3D and digital art forms in a variety of media, as well as an understanding of critical and historical theories of art. An introduction to art education methods and essential professional management of learning in visual arts equips participants in this subject to develop engaging, competent visual arts programs and initiatives in their field experience in the primary school.
