This subject focuses on three main areas. The first is for pre-service teachers to reflect on their learning throughout the course which is undertaken through curation of a portfolio and diary that has been developed over the four years. The second area is for pre-service teachers to understand opportunities for professional learning in schools and develop a plan. The third focus is to support pre-service teachers consider the challenges that beginning teachers meet in their first years of teaching including: interactions with parents, membership of the wider school community, collegial and professional interactions, ethically questionable practices and beliefs of some in-service teacher, and management of professional roles and responsibilities are investigated. Embedded in the subject is 15 day placement.
