010057 Professional Development Experience

In this subject, university teachers develop their understanding of themselves as learners and how they can make better use of professional development opportunities. Participants select a professional development experience that they have participated in outside of the course. This experience could include workshops, online learning, on-the-job training, taking on additional responsibilities in order to build skills, shadowing a co-worker to see how they do their job, a secondment to another unit to broaden their work experience or being mentored or mentoring a colleague. Participants reflect on how they learn during professional development experiences and gain academic credit for the non-award development activities connected to their learning goals for their life-time of learning.
