The Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Energy Technologies is an advanced program for individuals who want to be equipped with the knowledge of the latest advances in clean energy, sustainability and how policies can shape the future of the sector.
The program focuses on providing students with the latest innovations across the energy fields with a focus on technology, sources, and systems. Students develop forward-looking and specialised knowledge to become valued experts for organisations and industries leading the transition to sustainable energy.

Admission requirements
To be eligible for admission to this course, applicants must meet the following criteria.
Applicants must have the following:
- Completed Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent, in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline, such as physics, chemistry, environmental sciences, engineering, and/or materials sciences, or another comparable field. The list of acceptable fields can be found on the UTS Online website.
Applicants who do not meet the criteria above should consider applying for C11369 Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Practice.
The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL iBT: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.
International students
Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.
Recognition of prior learning
Students in the Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Energy Technologies are not granted exemptions for any prior studies.
Course duration and attendance
The course is offered on an eight months, full-time basis. (i.e., 1 x 6 credit point subject per session over 4 x 7-week sessions).
Approval to study more than six credit points subject per session will be subject to Faculty approval.
Course structure
The course comprises a total of 24 credit points and consists of four compulsory core subjects.
