Overview

The Master of Screen Arts and Production is for anyone looking to deepen, enhance or reframe their skills as a screen industry practitioner.

In this course students engage in hands-on and practical training, develop a network of creative collaborators, and create a portfolio of original films and other screen works. Core subjects introduce students to a set of common foundational skills, whilst a broad range of industry-aligned electives allow students to specialise in a chosen aspect of screen production craft. All students are exposed to subjects fostering excellence and innovation in scripted and non-scripted production, and cutting-edge media art.

Working with professional film equipment and software, students are continually challenged by learning that is research-inspired and integrated with professional practice; all in our unique studio based classroom environment designed to help students explore, experiment with, and further define their creative voice. By immersing themselves in their creative practice, and spending time developing projects that they can present to industry at the conclusion of the course, a Master of Screen Arts and Production at UTS enables students to find and develop the skills and ideas that set them apart.

Extension students get to broaden their understanding of the screen production industry by taking additional electives.

Taught by industry practitioners who have mentored award-winning graduates, the UTS Master of Screen Arts and Production has been designed to meet the demands of this dynamic and fast-changing industry.
