92934 Clinical Management in Diabetes

This subject expands on the foundational and clinical knowledge of the multidisciplinary participant cohort. Through creative and innovative teaching strategies, participants identify and critically analyse the aetiology and pathophysiology of diabetes, including prevention, risk factor screening and management strategies. The impact of diabetes on specific population subgroups and their particular interdisciplinary management needs are also examined along with acute and chronic diabetes complications. This subject also provides a particular focus on regulatory frameworks in particular the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) scope of practice within an overview of the impact of diabetes and jurisdictional, national and international responses to the diabetes epidemic.
