There are course requisites for this subject. See access conditions.

Description

This subject explores how midwifery skills optimise physiological processes in labour and birth for all women and birthing people, including those with complications and risk factors. A review of the principles of anatomy and physiology that underpin these processes enables an understanding of how models of care, the birth environment, freedom of movement, technology mediation, woman centred language and debriefing techniques can positively affect the course of labour and birth.
