6cp; 1hpw (tutorial: online and face-to-face), 3hpw (laboratory: face-to-face), 240hrs (20 x 8hrs: clinical blocks, 10 x 8hrs: inter-session shifts between November–mid-February)

Students in this subject work in simulated learning environments to learn and develop the requisite midwifery practice skills applicable to women with complex labour, birth and postpartum period. Students engage in midwifery practice and this subject provides opportunity to reflect on their practice. In the midwifery practice setting, students work with midwives and implement care based on clinical decisions developed in collaboration with others. Students are expected to continue with their continuity of midwifery care experiences. The skills acquired for this subject relate to, and are supported by, the concurrent theoretical subject 92363 Complex Labour, Birth and Puerperium.
