60903 Project Management in Science

There are course requisites for this subject. See access conditions.

Project management involves the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to any project activity to meet the project requirements given by the clients. Project management is a key professional skill and this subject provides the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and experience necessary for performing the role of a project manager and achieving project objectives in wide range of industries. A project is unique, it is not a routine operation, but a specific set of operations designed to accomplish a singular goal. Therefore, a project team often includes people who don't usually work together; sometimes from different organisations and across multiple geographies. This subject gives the students the opportunity to learn human resource management in detail.

The subject introduces the three key processes of project management: planning, scheduling and controlling to successfully complete a project according to its acceptance criteria, within an agreed timescale and budget.
