Description

In this subject, students critically reflect on the history, theory and production of new media and sound, involving key historical sound works, contemporary audio practices, the rise of interactive new media forms and the emergence and impacts of social media and interactivity. Students research and examine a range of creative media works involving sound and interaction as a way of evaluating their influences and impacts on contemporary sound and digital media culture and production. Students develop specialised production skills in audio recording, mixing, and online digital media development. Students also synthesise cognitive, theoretical, creative and technical skills through the production of short creative works with audio and online outcomes.
