41075 Principles of Programming Languages




This subject surveys the range of programming paradigms in current use, including imperative, functional, object-oriented, database and concurrent paradigms. Students learn the relative strengths and weaknesses of the different styles, and are able to apply this knowledge to choose the right paradigm for a particular programming task. The emphasis is on individual written justifications, supported by technical knowledge.
