21778 Fundraising and Resource Development

There are course requisites for this subject. See access conditions.

One of the defining features of a not-for-profit organisation is that its core purpose is not necessarily related to its income generation. This subject draws together the social purpose of not-for-profit organisations and their business models. It identifies sources of income and analyses income generation strategies in the context of sustainable business practices. The management implications of different methods of income generation are explored. It examines the alignment of resource mobilisation strategies with an organisation's mission and values. Finally, the legal and ethical contexts for income generation and resource mobilisation are explored and analysed.
