This is the third of the three core landscape communication subjects. This subject examines the agency of communications through positioning the acts of drawing/making/visualising as practices that investigate and construct landscape. ln this subject students challenge and manipulate conventions of representation through individual research and contribute to landscape architectural discourse by exploring the relationship between drawing and argument.

The subject investigates line, archive and image as a collection of strategies that drive paths through historical and contemporary polemics. Students are asked to develop an argument and position around a key thematic within contemporary landscape architectural discourse and pursue an argument through drawing and in relation to archival materials. Students are encouraged to propose hybrids of technological and poetic forms of drawings and modelling.
