This subject builds on 028242 Science and Technology 1 and continues to assist students' development as lifelong learners. It guides students in undertaking independent and collaborative inquiry in relation to teaching and learning in primary science and technology contexts, leading to the creation of new ideas and critical understanding. Students are supported as they take increased responsibility for their own professional learning about science and technology concepts, and about pedagogies and approaches to teaching and learning with primary aged students and with programming in this key learning area. In requiring students to use a variety of sources for accessing, analysing and evaluating information, this subject contributes to the development of literacy in science and technology and learning technologies. Further, it supports students to become informed and ethical primary school teachers with a commitment to teaching science and technology creatively in a range of K–6 contexts.
