This subject examines the teaching of early reading and spelling to students experiencing difficulties. Participants analyse and evaluate research on reading and spelling acquisition, apply the findings to the instructional needs of students, and examine and evaluate diagnostic and assessment tools both formal and informal in reading and spelling.
